Hi,

Thanks for the feedback.
This is a great info. However, maybe my question is misleading.
Other than collecting snmp traps using snmptrapd, is there any
other tool which I could used to manipulate these snmp to take
certain action? I actually need a very good reporting tools,
something like analog but in great depth.

Managing SNMP devices.

Hi,

This is my first time posting to the mailing-list.
I have a question (which I hope not too silly), is there
any tools (similar to MRTG) in linux which I can use to
collect SNMP traps from various devices (manageable)?

I happen to come across this tools from http://www.netvoyant.com
but they are way too expensive. Any recommendation is
highly valued.

Hi,

	Run snmptrapd as root and give this manager's ip in the agent
running in the device.
	The trap info would get written in /var/log/messages.
	Hope this is helpful.

I beleive you need ucd-snmp(net-snmp) or cmu-snmp RPM to be installed to
get snmptrapd on your linux system.
