* [PATCH] media: v4l2-ctrl: Add control for VP9 profile
From: Keiichi Watanabe @ 2018-05-17 9:53 UTC (permalink / raw)
To: linux-arm-kernel
Add a new control V4L2_CID_MPEG_VIDEO_VP9_PROFILE for selecting desired
profile for VP9 encoder and querying for supported profiles by VP9 encoder
or decoder.
An existing control V4L2_CID_MPEG_VIDEO_VPX_PROFILE cannot be
used for querying since it is not a menu control but an integer
control, which cannot return an arbitrary set of supported profiles.
The new control V4L2_CID_MPEG_VIDEO_VP9_PROFILE is a menu control as
with controls for other codec profiles. (e.g. H264)

* [PATCH v2] dmaengine: qcom: bam_dma: check if the runtime pm enabled
From: Srinivas Kandagatla @ 2018-05-17 9:42 UTC (permalink / raw)
To: linux-arm-kernel
Disabling pm runtime at probe is not sufficient to get BAM working
on remotely controller instances. pm_runtime_get_sync() would return
-EACCES in such cases.
So check if runtime pm is enabled before returning error from bam functions.

Subject: futex: Remove duplicated code and fix undefined behaviour
From: Jiri Slaby <jslaby@suse.cz>
commit 30d6e0a4190d37740e9447e4e4815f06992dd8c3 upstream.
There is code duplicated over all architecture's headers for
futex_atomic_op_inuser. Namely op decoding, access_ok check for uaddr,
and comparison of the result.
Remove this duplication and leave up to the arches only the needed
assembly which is now in arch_futex_atomic_op_inuser.
This effectively distributes the Will Deacon's arm64 fix for undefined
behaviour reported by UBSAN to all architectures. The fix was done in
commit 5f16a046f8e1 (arm64: futex: Fix undefined behaviour with
FUTEX_OP_OPARG_SHIFT usage). Look there for an example dump.
And as suggested by Thomas, check for negative oparg too, because it was
also reported to cause undefined behaviour report.
Note that s390 removed access_ok check in d12a29703 ("s390/uaccess:
remove pointless access_ok() checks") as access_ok there returns true.
We introduce it back to the helper for the sake of simplicity (it gets
optimized away anyway).

* [PATCH v2 2/4] ARM64: dts: meson-axg: correct i2c AO clock
From: Jerome Brunet @ 2018-05-17 9:30 UTC (permalink / raw)
To: linux-arm-kernel
In-Reply-To: <20180517093100.22225-1-jbrunet@baylibre.com>
The clock specified for the i2c AO controller is the one for the EE
domain, which is incorrect as this controller needs the clock for AO
i2c controller.

* [PATCH v2 0/4] ARM64: dts: meson-axg: i2c updates
From: Jerome Brunet @ 2018-05-17 9:30 UTC (permalink / raw)
To: linux-arm-kernel
This patchset fixes a few problems found in the i2c nodes of
amlogic's meson-axg platform. It also adds the missing pins for
AO controller so we can use it on the S400
This series has been tested on the S400 board.

Both of them check the disable_depth, however doing it the way you
suggested would avoid some additional calls.

sound like good idea!

Just noticed that some of the drivers use:
err = pm_runtime_get_sync(dev);
if (err < 0 && err !=-EACCES)
return;
others warp up this into local function.
Will send a v2!

* [PATCH v5 4/4] drm/rockchip: support dp training outside dp firmware
From: Lin Huang @ 2018-05-17 9:18 UTC (permalink / raw)
To: linux-arm-kernel
In-Reply-To: <1526548680-2552-1-git-send-email-hl@rock-chips.com>
DP firmware uses fixed phy config values to do training, but some
boards need to adjust these values to fit for their unique hardware
design. So get phy config values from dts and use software link training
instead of relying on firmware, if software training fail, keep firmware
training as a fallback if sw training fails.

Changes in v2:
- update patch following Enric suggest
Changes in v3:
- use variable fw_training instead sw_training_success
- base on DP SPCE, if training fail use lower link rate to retry training
Changes in v4:
- improve cdn_dp_get_lower_link_rate() and cdn_dp_software_train_link() follow Sean suggest
Changes in v5:
- fix some whitespcae issue

* [PATCH v5 3/4] phy: rockchip-typec: support variable phy config value
From: Lin Huang @ 2018-05-17 9:17 UTC (permalink / raw)
To: linux-arm-kernel
In-Reply-To: <1526548680-2552-1-git-send-email-hl@rock-chips.com>
the phy config values used to fix in dp firmware, but some boards
need change these values to do training and get the better eye diagram
result. So support that in phy driver.
Signed-off-by: Chris Zhong <zyw@rock-chips.com>
Signed-off-by: Lin Huang <hl@rock-chips.com>
---
Changes in v2:
- update patch following Enric suggest
Changes in v3:
- delete need_software_training variable
- add default phy config value, if dts do not define phy config value, use these value
Changes in v4:
- rename variable config to tcphy_default_config
Changes in v5:
- None

It could be argued the lock move is unrelated and should be in a separate
patch... Not particularly important though.
Some comments inline, but I'm happy with how you did this.

I guess this reorder was to match what is done in remove?

it really doesn't matter.

Sorry for that, I didn't find any better place at that time(neither

* [PATCH v2 3/3] ARM: dts: imx28/imx53: enable edt-ft5x06 wakeup source
From: Daniel Mack @ 2018-05-17 9:05 UTC (permalink / raw)
To: linux-arm-kernel
In-Reply-To: <20180517090552.5704-1-daniel@zonque.org>
The touchscreen driver no longer configures the device as wakeup source by
default. A "wakeup-source" property is needed.
To avoid regressions, this patch changes the DTS files for the only two
users of this driver that didn't have this property yet.

Allow configuring the device as wakeup source through device properties, as
not all platforms want to wake up on touch screen activity.
The I2C core automatically reads the "wakeup-source" DT property to
configure a device's wakeup capability, and board supports files can set
I2C_CLIENT_WAKE in the flags.

* [PATCH v2 0/3] input: touchscreen: edt-ft5x06: make wakeup source behavior configurable
From: Daniel Mack @ 2018-05-17 9:05 UTC (permalink / raw)
To: linux-arm-kernel
Hi,
I have a platform that features an edt-ft5x06 touch panel and that
doesn't want to wake on touch screen activity.
Here's a trivial series of patches that make the edt-ft5x06 driver only
act as wakeup source when requested through device properties or DTS.
The third patch changes the default in two DTS files that use this
driver.
I guess the first two patches should go through the input tree, while
the third can be picked by the IMX people. There are no compile-time
dependencies, so the order doesn't matter.
Thanks,
Daniel
v1 ? v2:
* simply drop device_init_wakeup() as the I2C core does handles
the wakeup-source property already (1/3)
* add a delay after reset deassertion at resume time (2/3)
* no changes in the DTS patch (3/3)
