Hello,

I'm fairly new with Linux and Bluetooth.  I'm trying to send a message
from one PDA using PocketPC and reading the same message on the Linux
iPAQ (using GPE).  A good goal for right now, would be to be able to
send "Hello, World!" to a PDA and have the other PDA respond back with
"I got your message" or something like that.  Does anyone know of any
good links on the website to learn how to do this?  Maybe a list of
general commands in Linux that I could look at and figure out how to
send messages over bluetooth to PocketPC?  I'd appreciate any help.

I have no idea on how to do this with PocketPC, but the Linux part is
very easy. You can do that with under 20 lines of source code. Look at
rctest or attest for examples.

On the PocketPC site you can write a C#.Net Compact Framework application.
You can open a COM-port (8:outbound or 5:inbound).

If you want the pocketpc to start the communication, you'll have to offer a service on the linux ipaq.
I do it the other way, my linuxmachine is starting the connection. So I use com5 on the pocketpc. Search for the NETSerial library.

On linux, you can work with the rfcomm-tool.

If you manage to offer a service, and let the pocketpc start the connection, let us know :)
