[Bluez-users] Help id'ing USB bluetooth adapter

Where do I start trying to figure out what chipset this 'ere adapter is, and 
so if it is supported ?
If it isn't, I might just take a crack at it or post it to someone who can :-)

syslog reports:

Windows (where, of course, it runs fine :-) reports it as 
"Cambridge Silicon Radio, Firmware Revision 525, HCI 1.1 020D, LMP 1.1 020D"
It is using drivers by WidComm, if that helps.

I understand from the website that CSR are a popular chip set provider, so I'm 
hoping it is supported really :-)

It's also a popular version of the firmware (16.4).  Lots of dongles by
lots of manufacturers use this.  You shouldn't have any problem unless
someone has tweaked the settings in a weird way.

it is a CSR BlueCore02 with HCI 16.4 firmware and 56 bit encryption.

This looks like an USB problem. What kernel version is it? Do hciconfig
shows your Bluetooth adapter?

It's wherever RedHat9 is ... uname -a says

:goes off and gets that (I got bluez-lib and -utils from up2date).

I'm assuming that means despite the syslog error, things are mostly working, 
though it seems to have failed to detect the address etc. for some reason - 
any further ideas ?

I can't tell you anything about a RedHat kernel.

Can you bring it up with "hciconfig hci0 up"?
