Hi All,
I tried connecting to GPRS using my nokia 6820 and CSR usbdongle. I am able
to start hcid, sdpd.
I am also able to l2ping my device.
I can bind the device to rfcomm0, after patching the kernel
I was able to connect to The Internet once, but after I restarted I got the
following error while connecting using pppd
rfcomm0: connection refused!
I thought may be I messed up a setting here or there, so I re-installed
RedHat 9.0 and tried again, I was able to conenct once, after I restart I
get the same problem. please help.
The following is the output of hcidump:

This can be a PIN problem or you use the wrong RFCOMM channel number.
Check the channel number of DUN with sdptool first.

Fix up your mailer. This messed up hcidump was hard to read.

Hi Virat,

not really good. Better you use 2.4.26-mh1.

Check it with "sdptool browse <bdaddr>". What does "hciconfig -a" say?

Use the suffix *.txt so I can view it inline in my mailer.

take a look at www.kernelnewbies.org for kernel FAQ etc. Anyhow the
patch-2.4.26-mh1 is as the name indicates for Linux kernel 2.4.26. You
have to choose another one, but these patches only apply to a vanilla
kernel from www.kernel.org and not the RedHat specific kernels.

Maybe you have initiated a pairing between phone and PC, but the phone
didn't save the link key. Make sure that you accept a new pairing on the
phone and that you also store it. Check the list of paired devices.

the hostname doesn't matter, but if you dual-boot your machine then you
always have to pair again.

may the new kernel helps, but I think it is a phone related problem.

Thanks for all your help, the problem was not on my m/c or Linux, it was on
my phone, it automatically tried to connect and did not ask me PIN, so now
what I do is every time I start Linux, I delete the paired device (my PC),
everytime I start windoj it automatically asks me for PIN. now I can surf
The Internet on Linux my fav. OS.
btw, I am using Nokia 6820.
Thanks once again.
Virat
