Hi Nicolas,

once you are connected with your mouse it will become invisible and you
have to press the connect button to see it again. Actually there is no
need for seeing it again, because it will reconnect after you move it or
press a mouse button and then this should be handled by the hidd.

Hi Nicolas,

> yes but the problem is that only the mouse works

I misread your email. What I think is that maybe the keyboard will only
work if you enforce the encryption. Is this the second generation of the
Microsoft keyboard? Can you do a "hcitool info ..." as root to your
keyboard? Run also "hcidump -x" as root and show it to us.

Regards

Marcel

Please don't connect the mouse when doing any testing with the keyboard.

Hi,
I've used the test program rctest to test the
capability of open a connection between two linux
boxes with bt. Well the protocol seems (l2test) to be
instable, when i transmit a sequence of packets
composed of only 1 bytes, the reader loose some
packets. The command lines i use are:
rctest -s -b 1 -N 1024 <addr> (sender, client)
and
rctest -d -b 1 (receiver, server)

I see the source code and i put an usleep pause after
the send call in the function void send_mode(int
s)...with this pause all seems work, but when i try to
send packet bigger than 1019 bytes other problem
arises, for example if i send a packet of 1024 bytes
then the packet will be braked in two packets, one of
1019 e the other of 5. In the case i send many packets
bigger than 1019, some data is lost, the receiver
receive less bytes of what are sended.

rfcomm socket must be realiable sequence stream, but
is not so, i can't understand where is the problem, if
mine or Bluez stack's.
Anybody could tell me if he had the same problems!!
I use Fedora Core 2, kernel 2.6.8-1.521 and bluez
libs/utils 2.8.

Thanks
Regards
 Andrea S.

As long as it is 2.6.8 or later you will have some basic HID support.

use "hcitool info 00:50:F2:80:A1:2B" as root. Maybe you need to pair and
the device is still waiting for the PIN. So enter a PIN on the number
key of your keyboard and press enter. If a PIN box pops up on your PC
enter the same PIN. And always run "hcidump -x" as root to see happens
on the link.

Marcel

call "modinfo hidp" and check the output.

this is the first generation of the Microsoft keyboard. It works
perfect, but maybe you set auth and encrypt in hcid.conf and forced
yourself to be in security mode 3. Don't do that and start checking the
mailing list archive.
