I just bought a BlueLogic Wingkey keyboard-trackball bluetooth combo (which I
think is perfect for sofa-surfing). It does not work in a useful way. I could
not find any information about this device and linux until now.
Hints?
Andres
config:
- vanilla 2.6.9 kernel
- x86
- tried with planet and epox usb bt adapters
- gentoo setup, with hidd etc. installed and enabled.
problems:
- the keyboard is detected
- when pressing a key, the pressed char appears, but then in about 70% of all
cases, some other key stroke, eg "arrow up", follows immediately.
- the integrated trackball is not detected
- in various howtos, separate bt addresses are detected for mouse/keyboards. I
can only detect one bt address for the whole keyboard/trackball combo (using
the hcitool scan command).

first I need some more information about this device
hcitool inq
hcitool scan
hcitool info 00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx
Then compile the libs2 CVS repository and run
./test/sdptest records 00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx > sdp_records.txt
and send me the file sdp_records.txt.

Use a 2.6.9-mh3 kernel and see if this helps.

Sorry, I only have a gmane interface for now (no attachements) -> inline. I can
resend with an attachement tomorrow.

will try this as soon as I have time (hopefully tomorrow).
Thx, that was a very fast response.

actually the class value is wrong if it is a mouse+keyboard combination.
The current HID boot protocol can't set the correct input parameters if
this value is wrong. However you can overwrite it from userspace with a
--subclass=0xc0 parameter when starting hidd from the boot scripts.

Please do so. I need that for my database.

The -mh3 activates the HID report mode and so the --subclass workaround
shouldn't be needed anymore.

Just tested with mh3: It works! Even the mouse does. I still do not know how to
make the thing work on boot (without resetting the keyboard and typing hidd
--search), but I did not search for that too much yet. I will send you the sdp
stuff asap.
Thx a lot,
Andres

make sure that a "hidd --server" is started at boot. The keyboard will
reconnect by itself.
