Hi
I am using a Logitech DiNovo keyboard & MX900 mouse with the DiNovo
wireless hub / mouse charger.
My problem is that I can't get my machine to connect to my phone.
As far as I can tell the system has set up the keyboard etc as hid
devices, so when I run hid2hci to try to get the phone recognised, the
keyboard & mouse stop working which needs a reboot to correct.
Easy question.... how do I fix this.
I am running Fedora Core 2,
kernel-2.6.5-1.358
bluez-utils-2.4-3
bluez-libs-2.5-2.1
bluez-hcidump-1.5-4
bluez-sdp-1.5-2.1
bluez-bluefw-1.0-2
bluez-libs-devel-2.5-2.1
Difficult question.... I need easy steps please!

not with this kernel and these packages. Go with Fedora Core 3, SuSE 9.2
or Debian Sarge/Sid.

I have now upgraded to Fedora Core 3

bluez-hcidump-1.11-1
bluez-utils-2.10-2
bluez-libs-2.10-2
bluez-libs-devel-2.10-2
the problem more or less is the same, start Bluetooth, keyboard & mouse
stop working.
Same question as before, how do I set it up so the system will recognise
my phone, keyboard & mouse.

make sure that "hidd --server" is started somewhere in the boot script.

run at boot S26hidd in rc5.d
after S25bluetooth
still the same problem, debugging is very difficult without a mouse or
keyboard. Can't query system, all I can do is press the reset button!

There is a nice init script in bluez-utils that does this all for you
and with Fedore Core 3 this should be all in place and you only need to
activate it somewhere. Maybe /etc/default/ or so.

I took out the --server option,but it still isn't working.
it displays the following message during boot:-
'Can't open RFCOMM console socket: address family not supported by
protocol'
looking back through /var/log/messages I found the following error
messages:-

didn't I said that you should use "hidd --server" and leave out the
"--search" option.
The RFCOMM error message has nothing do to with HID and if the modules
don't get loaded then some module aliases are missing or wrong. Check
the modules-init-tools packages.
