Hi,

I found your mail on the bluez mailing list that you have trouble switching=
 your DiNovo to bluetooth mode. The problem is, that Logitech has changed I=
Ds when releasing the Laser-version.

The following patch will solve your problem. (At least I hope so :-) )

I have posted this patch to the devel list but got no reaction from the res=
ponsible persons. So I do not know whether this patch will be integrated in=
 bluez some day.

awesome. Simply awesome. :) I'm happy both that there's a solution and that
there is an explanation for this!

I also hope this makes into Bluez sooner rather than later, at least now I
might be able to out how to fix a patched version for myself in the
meantime. ;-)

Hello list,

I've been googling, searching bugs and mailing lists as well as
experimenting, but finally I come here to ask about this.

I have the DiNovo multimedia kit, keyboard, mediapad and mouse and they all
work fine when it pretends to be USB devices. I have the version with the
little dongle that says Bluetooth 2.0 on it, so it's the BT version alright.

Basically the problem is that I seem to have all packages and configuration
that is needed according to the internet, but I get "No devices in HCI mode
found" when /etc/init.d/bluetooth is run in verbose mode, or when I run
hid2hci manually. Could it be that there is some kernel module missing, does
anybody know? I would like to a) be able to fix this manually, and b) file a
proper bug for this issue. :)

Please ask if you need any more info, I'll be happy to provide.

I already posted about this on this list. I wasn't using edgy but the probl=
em =

was the same. Nobody answered. I tried on gentoo and dapper.

issue? Even "we have no idea what you are talking about" or "this does not
work" would be appreciated, because then I'd at least know that much. :)

My diNovo has the same problem, but I didn't originally run the keyboard
on Linux, I had it on Windows until one morning it was dead. Nothing
worked and nothing I did could reactivate the bluetooth hub.

Moving it to Linux and it worked in HID mode, but the bluetooth side of
the dongle is dead in the way you describe.

I suggest you test if the dongle is working by using it on a Windows
machine. If it's as dead as mine, perhaps it's time to have a warrenty
talk with Logitech.

That's a very good idea. :) Actually, I did use it in Windows in one rare
occassion yesterday, and since I received an update to the software, I had
to re-pair all the devices (twice, sigh), entering numbers and so on. Don't
know if that means it was using bluetooth or not, but it worked just fine.

What I did not try was to use it to connect to a phone or similar. Guess
that's next on the list... :)

Using the setpoint software is Bluetooth mode only afaik, so clearly
your bluetooth usb hub is still working and we need the help of the devs
to find the reason why BlueZ is broken with out diNovo's.

I've used bluez for a week now, so I'm not really sure how to debug it.

If the diNovo has worked for you (in HCI mode), how about trying older
versions, grab the dapper bluez one and try it?
