Hi,

Maybe it have been lost in the chatter but Aristeu Sergio Rozanski
Filho did send in a fakeinput patch for the Playstation 3 sixaxis
controller a month ago.

I don't see the patch in cvs so maybe it got stalled somewhere. Maybe
someone can consider this patch again for inclusion. Can't ask
Aristeau for a resend directly because i just subscribed and thus
haven't got his email address to ask for a resend.

As I understand it the ps3 sixaxis controller has to be defined as
fakeinput otherwise it won't connect.

With bluez-util 3.22. I see the PS3 controller trying to connect

Nov 20 18:06:56 localhost input[4060]: Incoming connection on PSM 17
Nov 20 18:06:56 localhost input[4060]: Incoming connection on PSM 19

but to no avail.

With the old daemon hidd there is a nocheck option but with hidc there
isn't so I'm not able to connect the controller with BT.

actually, the sixaxis controller already works. the patches I've
submitted are for supporting the blu-ray remote.

I've submitted as RFC and I'm still working with Dmitry to get the new
needed key definitions in kernel first so the key map is correct to
resubmit the patch set. I didn't got any comment about the other aspects
of the patches, so I assume they're ok (or completely wrong :P)

AFAIK, the sixaxis only needs a special initialization before it can be
registered as HID device. I didn't tried it, but it looks like that
reading the code.

The Sixaxis only works with the old hidd, it doesn't with the new input
service though, as the input service expects to be able to connect to
the device to get its info.

See my attempts at fixing that in the archives.
