I have been using gpsdrive (http://www.gpsdrive.cc) under linux a little
bit.

It will get basic street maps and tries to use topo maps within the US.
The topo maps are off by at least a mile whenever I try to use them though.

The user interface has a lot to be desired... zoom in/out will only work
sometimes, there only seems to be one way to scroll the map around and
it messes up route recording, etc.

Hi Karthik,

what is the difference between a serial port and a RFCOMM connection to
a GPS unit? There is no difference, so choose the best software.

Regards

Marcel
