Hi,
The hcid.conf configures the hcid (HCI Daemon). You need to let that
program know that you changed the config file, maby by simply restarting
it or sending a HUP Signal too it (killall -HUP hcid). Re-Plugging your
device shoud do it too.
Greetings
Andy

I had the same *really annoying* problem. There is a cache for the
library in some obscure place like
/usr/lib/libbluetooth/something_or_other - delete the cache and it will
work. BTW, to the developers: this is a BUG. Take care of it, please.

Hi
I am using bluez-utils-3.7 and red hat linux kernel version 2.4.20-8. I have installed dbus-0.61 but I am facing problem in starting hcid. From the mailing archives I could make out that dbus message bus is not started so hcid is not starting up. I get the error :
[root@del32tpt hcid]# hcid -n
hcid[10086]: Bluetooth HCI daemon
hcid[10086]: Can't open system message bus connection: Failed to connect to socket /usr/local/var/run/dbus/system_bus_socket: No such file or directory
Can you please tell me how to get this message bus running on my PC.
Thanks in advance,
Sumeet Verma

Hi all
I have got a hcid problem below:
$hcid -f /etc/bluetooth/hcid.conf
BUG: scheduling while atomic: hcid/0x00000101/51
caller is schedule+0xec/0x12c
There is no hcid process running from ps view. if run hcid again, something will be issued:
BUG: scheduling while atomic: swapper/0x00000103/0
caller is schedule+0xec/0x12c
BUG: scheduling from the idle thread!
Unable to handle kernel NULL pointer dereference at virtual address 00000004
pgd = c0004000
[00000004] *pgd=
as kernel version is 2.6.10, so I use a old bluez version 3.12

Best Regards
