[Bluez-users] a2play and btsco questions

I'm using my HBH-DS970 headset with a2play, and it works nicely.
However, I would also like o use the daemon functionality of the btsco
key daemon at the same time, so as to control playback with the
headset butons. Is this possible?

well it might be possible for you to hack something together using the
btsco settings file.

if your headset supports avrcp, you should be able to use the alsa
plugin and a2dpd daemon to control playback. that would be more flexible.

According to the docs I need a2play to play stereo, since the
HBH-DS970 supports stereo. Has this requirement changed? It would be
much nicer wih a proper alsa device of course.

Thanks for spotting this!

Some problems remains:
- the sound is much "choppier" than with a2play
I suspect this line from a2dpd output:
setscheduler returns -1 (errno=3D1:Operation not permitted)

must I run a2dpd as root?

- I only get sound in 1 earpiece, the sound is very soft in the other one.

Forgot:
the "cmd" definitions doesnt seem to do anything!

- I dont know how to make AVRCP commands work reliably, or how to

- xmms output is really choppy, whereas mplayer output is ok.
I tried fiddling about with xmms alsa settings, like mmap and buffer
settings and whatnot, but no real breakthrough.

A2DPD can run some commands to control a mediaplayer remotly.
Xmms provide such features. It is player dependent and can be customized 
in .a2dprc.

My old headset behave differently depending whether it was receiving 
sound or not :
When not receiving sound, it did not do AVRCP at all, but it tried to 
establish an A2DP connection. So the daemon received this incoming A2DP 
connection, close it and  launch the media player, wich in turn will 
make a new outgoing A2DP connection to the headset.

When playing, the headset will send normal AVRCP commands.

Do you send 44100 Hz stereo? It's the only supported format. Other 
format need conversion.
