Subject: [PATCH 17/22] ksmbd: apply POSIX mode ACEs in security updates
Date: Sat, 17 Oct 2026 10:03:39 +0900	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20261017010344.11478-17-linkinjeon@kernel.org> (raw)
In-Reply-To: <20261017010344.11478-1-linkinjeon@kernel.org>

Explicit modes carried by NFS mode ACEs can be overwritten by the DACL
permission fallback, and security updates discard special mode bits.

Track modes supplied by ACCESS_ALLOWED NFS mode ACEs and bypass the
permission fallback for them. Apply both permission and special bits
when setting an explicit POSIX mode.

For SET_INFO, require a POSIX open for explicit mode changes and apply
the mode only when DACL security information is requested.
