This is an very old issue:
https://www.spinics.net/lists/devicetree/msg120914.html
(reported year ago, please update the Reported-by)
and guide was to either use oppN format or whitelist opp nodes in dtc.
Apparently the second never happened...

How does the consumer get to know whether they have to operate in host mode or
device mode?

Fix this by replacing '@' with '-' as the OPP nodes will never have a
"reg" property.

Ok, with per-process pagetables which gpu handles by itself, is the gpu driver
not going to keep its own clocks pm_runtime active before handing it over
to the firmware ? which would in this case take care of having the iommu clocks
also enabled because of the device links in the behind.

The idea here was to keep the iommu clocks only represented inside the IOMMU DT
and handled by that driver. This works fine with the video decoder which is
already fully pm_runtime enabled and works fine with basic gpu testing. Do you
see any issues in testing this with the per-process pagetables ?

Some Motorola phones like droid 4 use a custom CPCAP PMIC that has a
multiplexing USB PHY.

This USB PHY can operate at least in four modes using pin multiplexing
and two control GPIOS:

- Pass through companion PHY for the SoC USB PHY
- ULPI PHY for the SoC
- Pass through USB for the modem
- UART debug console for the SoC

This patch adds support for droid 4 USB PHY and debug UART modes,
support for other modes can be added later on as needed.

Both peripheral and host mode are working for the USB. The
host mode depends on the cpcap-charger driver for VBUS.

VBUS and ID pin detection are done using cpcap-adc IIO ADC
driver.

This change adds a driver for the 16550-based Aspeed virtual UART
device. We use a similar process to the of_serial driver for device
probe, but expose some VUART-specific functions through sysfs too.

The VUART is two UART 'front ends' connected by their FIFO (no actual
serial line in between). One is on the BMC side (management controller)
and one is on the host CPU side.

This driver is for the BMC side. The sysfs files allow the BMC
userspace, which owns the system configuration policy, to specify at
what IO port and interrupt number the host side will appear to the host
on the Host <-> BMC LPC bus. It could be different on a different system
(though most of them use 3f8/4).

OpenPOWER host firmware doesn't like it when the host-side of the
VUART's FIFO is not drained. This driver only disables host TX discard
mode when the port is in use. We set the VUART enabled bit when we bind
to the device, and clear it on unbind.

We don't want to do this on open/release, as the host may be using this
bit to configure serial output modes, which is independent of whether
the devices has been opened by BMC userspace.

The probing of THRE irq behaviour assumes the other end will be reading
bytes out of the buffer in order to probe the port at driver init. In
some cases the other end cannot be relied upon to read these bytes, so
provide a flag for them to skip this step.

Bit 19 was chosen as the flags are a int and the top bits are taken.

This is v3 of a driver for the Aspeed VUART. This version addresses feedback
from Andy and Greg, and includes Rob's ack for the bindings change.

The VUART is a serial device on the BMC side of the LPC bus that connects a BMC
to it's host processor.

We add a flag to the serial core to allow the driver to skip probing of the
THRE irq behaviour, which could hang due to the host not reading bytes out of
the buffer.

We've been using this on systems for over a year, so it has seen a good amount
of testing.

This is v3 of a driver for the Aspeed VUART. This version addresses feedback
from Andy and Greg, and includes Rob's ack for the bindings change.

The VUART is a serial device on the BMC side of the LPC bus that connects a BMC
to it's host processor.

We add a flag to the serial core to allow the driver to skip probing of the
THRE irq behaviour, which could hang due to the host not reading bytes out of
the buffer.

We've been using this on systems for over a year, so it has seen a good amount
of testing.

We only perform readb/writeb, however you raise a good point that
we're assuming LE in the register layout. I will remove checking of this
optional property.

I just tested this driver on the RZ/A1 RSK board.
The following worked good.

The kbuild test robot is... a machine. It won't read or answer to
your reply :-)

It automatically tests all patches sent to the ML and apply them at the 
order the patches are found at the tree, one by one.

The rule is that no patch can cause compilation breakages, as
this breaks Kernel bisectability.

So, you have to ensure, when sending a patch series, that every single
patch is compilable, and won't cause runtime issues.

In the specific case of this patch:

If cxd2880-spi.c need something else in order to be built, you
should not add it at Kconfig/Makefile yet. Just add the files, 
using an order that makes it easier to be reviewed. In this
particular case, if it needs a header file, the patch containing
the header file should ideally be sent together with it
(or a previous patch, if adding it together wouldn't work).

Also, what I usually do when submitting drivers is that I don't
touch Kconfig/Makefile too early, putting such changes by the end
of the patch series.

E. g. you could break this patch on two separate patches, where the
first one would be just adding the cxd2880-spi.c (and cxd2880.h). Another
possibility would be to move this patch to the end, if the other patches
don't break git bisect (e. g. if they all compile without problems) and if
they're good enough to be reviewed by someone using the patch order.

Subject: [PATCH 14/63] ASoC: add .of_xlate_dai_id() callback

ALSA SoC needs to know connected DAI ID for probing.
It is not a big problem if device/driver was only for sound,
but getting DAI ID will be difficult if device includes both
Video/Sound, like HDMI.
To solve this issue, this patch adds new .of_xlate_dai_id callback
on component driver, and use it from snd_soc_get_dai_id()

Well to my knowledge the only other way to get to it is the 'ectool'
from userland
via ioctl calls. The other option would be IIO ...

Sorry, I checked my patch-list, and I noticed that
this function will be expand to use callback function in next
patch-set (= HDMI support).
Thus, inded current function is pointless at this point.
