I attached full dmesg, lspci and dmidecode (in case it helps) output. The DRAM
is 2 pieces of "Kingston ValueRAM KVR1333D3E9S/2G", BIOS ver is 0602 (from
01/07/2010). Can't say for sure because the machine is remote, but acording to
dmidecode, BANKS 2 and 3 are occupied (wow - RAM is a bit overclocked, same as
processor - could this be a problem?).
Thanks!
Marvin

The output of "decode-dimms" is often also worth a look....
Cheers,
Tim.

unfortunately, there is no module available to communicate with the eeprom.
In the mean time I found the reason for the error. The "real" CPU is a two core
Phenom (Phenom II X2 555 / BE 3.2 GHz). Two additional cores where enabled and
overclocked to 3.6 GHz in the BIOS setup (so BIOS reports X4 B55 / 3.6 GHz). While
this runs well under normal conditions (no crashes), other things seem to suffer -
like EDAC (also powernow-k8 has problems selecting the right clock frequency and
needs ignore_ppc option).
Sorry for the false report.

Hi,
my system is a Phenom II with 4GB ECC memory and Asus "M4A785TD-V EVO" MoBo running current git kernel.
ECC is enabled in the BIOS. The amd64_edac_mod module can only be loaded using the ecc_edac_override. Below

I know there a BIOS bugs out there ... is there a way to workaround this and is the driver working
at all?
Thanks!

Hi,

can you please send me your whole dmesg. Also do as root
lspci -s 18.3 -xxxx
and send me that output too. Furthermore, what is your exact BIOS
version and what is the exact model name of the DIMMs, how many are
there, are they identical and how are they placed?
Thanks.
