Here's an updated version of the patch. What I did is:

- changed initialisation of def_rgb_16 and def_rgb_8 to ISO-C99
- use FB_BLANK_NORMAL
- removed zeroing the colormap when blanking. It seemed unnecessary
  because we disable the controller anyway.
