Hello.
Could someone send me the cyblafb patch from July 31st?
The mail archive at sourceforge seems to have only the docs part
of the patch:
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=12518355
I have a laptop with the i1 chipset and I'd like to test it.
TIA,

Silly me, I didn't notice my Trident card was actually Cyber 9525 model,
not Cyberblade i1. Any suggestions on how to go about running tridentfb?
Currently it gives me either blank screen or completely garbled screen
(colorful stripes and squares).
TIA,

The lack of public docs is the real problem in
supporting most trident chips.

I understand. The Xorg driver seems to be working just fine, though.
Isn't it possible to use that code as basis? Or is there simply no-one
who cares and wants to fix bugs in tridentfb?

At the end of 2003 I complained about a lot of serious bugs. Nobody cared
about that. Some people, even one of the linux gurus, just told me to use
epiafb (not included in the standard distribution), but that driver is
even more broken. I then wrote a dirty hack and used it for some time ...
a vesafb with integrated cyberblade acceleration. Not really clean enough
for release ;-) At the end of 2005 I had some time and wrote cyblafb, based
on tridentfb. Probably cyblafb will be extended to include support for
cyberblade/i7 and another "Blade 3D" graphics cores. But fixing tridentfb
for all chips without hardware access is a task too time consuming for me.
cu,
Knut

I understand. Thank you for the detailed explanation. For the record:
if anyone wants to throw any patches that might work on Trident Cyber 9525
chipset at me, I'll be more than happy to test them.
