I did already have you in mind as a remote attendee and we will have a
solution for such cases. But we do not provide a general first-class
"virtual experience" as some tracks do not even want any remote
attendeeds.

This is another reminder to put in your invitation request!

What are you waiting for? The weather in Croatia in May is nice. What
could be better than soaking up some sun through the meeting room window
while someone's asking you to make your locking more complicated, grow
your data structure by just a few bytes, or to add some more spaghetti
to that code?

Please also don't forget to pester^wask^wremind your respective
organizations to sponsor LSF/MM/BPF 2026! Bring it up as much as you
bring up that patch on-list that didn't get accepted but would've made
everything so much better.

We will very likely aim to get the initial batch of invitations out the
middle or end of February.

I have just looked at the sponsorship site for LSF/MM/BPF/AI again and
we all really need to go out and go steal some of that AI funding money
and funnel it into one of the conferences that really drives development
of the operating system that drives the compute for all of this.

Please go and remind your organizations to sponsor. They should know how
to get in touch with the Linux Foundation. Just going by the sponsorship
page we're missing a bunch of large organizations that we would
appreciate if they decided to pitch in. :)

Just on this point, at least for Linux Plumbers Conference, we've found
that increasingly OSPOs (which usually hold the LF contacts) are
aligned with Marketing organizations and don't see as much value in
sponsoring pure engineering events (like LSF and LPC).  We've thus
started getting our money from the Engineering organizations themselves
(where you are all better placed to wield influence).  To convince your
engineering management chain (who may never have done this before) you
need to articulate the value (it's the place where Linux features
you're working on get presented, discussed and decided so a good
showing by your engineers can drastically shorten the time to
acceptance of something, or actually set direction better than a
mailing list discussion, which provides more roadmap certainty for VPs)
and provide the details, so the sponsor prospectus is here:

You have to go high enough in your organization to find someone with an
actual budget, which can be a bit daunting, so if you need outside
help, the PC (lsf-pc@lists.linuxfoundation.org) will be able to help

Logos only show up there after the sponsorship agreement is completed.
If you are on the LSF/MM committee and are wondering what sponsorships
are really in the pipeline, then I'd recommend checking with your
Linux Foundation contacts, they might be allowed to tell you what is
in the pipeline (maybe?).

In particular, I've been handling the NVIDIA sponsorships for LSF/MM
since 2017, we've done it every year, and we're doing it again this
this year as well.

But it's still getting signed and finalized, so you won't see the
logo up on the LSF/MM page yet. Soon.

I sent out the first round of invites for the (V)FS track.
The first batch is also the largest batch. We will send out a set of
smaller invites later.

Note that the first batch includes everyone that indicated that they
would require a VISA.

I sent out the second and last batch of invites for the (V)FS track.
I've also sent out declined invitation notices. In case you have
received neither it is to be treated as a declined invitation at this
point.

Should any attendees be unable to attend because of... events... we may
be able to notify people on the list but it will likely be very short
notice unfortunately.
