hm, strange... dont know why it is rejected, but rejected is only a
comment in header of dmascc.c file... so, dont warry, it will work
fine with this reject... even those who use dmascc driver will not
have problem... will check what might me problem in patch...

I made a lot of fixes, some of them are implemented in 2.6.0-testX, too.
Some of fixes in my patch are stolen from boys working on 2.6 kernel.
When I posted here the info about my patch before more then month ago, there
were still big problems in kernel... Now I am running patched 2.4.21 more then
15 days without crash, think it is ready to be merged in some of next
2.4 kernel releases...
so, those having crashes (even protocol problems), try this patch:
ftp://ham2.cc.fer.hr/pub/users/9a4gl/9a4gl-ax25-2421-20030831.patch
the patch is against clean 2.4.21, so do not apply this patch if you
have patched kernel with any of my previous patches

Well, thanks for working on this.  So, then let me get this straight. The
most stable option is to get 2.4.21 and patch it with your patch, and that's
different from 2.4.22, right?

2.4.22 have one bugfix by dl9sau which fixes problem when kernel sends
SABM frames with unknown calls... didnt try, but my patch should also
apply to 2.4.22, will check in few days when will have more time, then
I will also create patch for 2.4.22...

kernel 2.4.21 and AX25 & netrom

Gurus on the list,

could someone, please, give me a clue about kernel 2.4.21 and ax25 (and
netrom)? I have had often crashes due the netrom bug, told by several
authors not only on this list. Do you suggest try an upgrade to
2.6.0-testX or there is a fix to be done in the 2.4.21 kernel release? If
there is such fix, where to get it?

    perhaps it just my reading, but i am not sure you've actually isolated
the problem.  is it the kernel, or ax25 ...

You're right. Besides, there are several packages that need upgrade before
the new kernel runs correctly. I intended to use the new kernel as a
solution for the current problems in the 2.4.x kernel netrom. I'll test
the 2.6.x it in a separated machine, to not disturb the "production"  one
and to learn more about this new kernel series.

Mostly is my poor writing, sorry if not clear enough :) ... the problem
here _is_ the ax25/netrom. The system runs weeks and weeks without problem
if there is no netrom running.  After starting the netrom, start also the
crashes.
