usage of f6fbb via telnet port

Hello friends,
i am working at connecting a ham program to f6fbb.
I want to open a bbs prompt (something like a msg "here is fsfbb.. enter "H" 
for help... "M" to see your mails... and so on) via telnet, e.g. by 
"telnet localhost 3286" (3286 example for port number.
The fbb doc says there is a way to have a telnet port besides tnc etc.
Is it possible this way, and how to configure? pse tips! tnx!

Yes, you can have telnet access to fbb. De default port is 
6300 but of course you can use another one.

Notice that telnet access is by default in read only mode.

In my personal experience, for example to give access to fbb 
from linuxnode on the same machine, telnet access was not 
fine. I used axip instead.

If you still want telnet access, you have to add 1 tnc and 1 
port. Then add a line like this to the ports:

#Com Interface Address (device)   Baud
2    9         189C               0

and something like this to the tncs:

#TNC NbCh Com MultCh Pacln Maxfr NbFwd MxBloc M/P-Fwd Mode Freq
2    8    2   0      250   2     1     10     00/60   TUWR  Telnet

The address in the port line is the tcp port where to listen 
in hex (6300 in the example).

Yes. You have to set M Flag in EU command.

First, why don't you reply to linux-hams, so all of us can 
help you?

You can read about axip (actually ax25 ip encapsulation) on 
manpages: axipd(1), ax25ipd.conf(5), and some examples in 
ax25-howto.

I think this is the solution, it will help me very much!
My vision is to make out of my hf pactor program a real automatic mailbox, 
like the existing pactor (winlink / airmail) mailboxes, with the help of 
f6fbb, so that new users can register and send mails immidiately without 
having to wait for the sysop. Maybe new with linux, and without ptc, i do not 
know. But now i am happily looking forward to the weekend in my shack...

I tried this, sorry, no change! Still the message "Read only access... you can 
only send a mail to the sysop".
Does anyone know where I can subscribe the f6fbb mailing list and read its 
archive?

The mask set de default values for NEW user as the register. 
You'll have to edit old (already registered) users' 
configuration with EU command, and add the M to them, I 
think one by one. Or perhaps just erase all the users.

If you only want to give access to some users, Add the M to 
them, and you don't need the mask in this case.
