What linux program will allow me to hook my Morse straight key to the
computer to practice my fist in preparation for a code test? xcwcp
is broken in this respect at the moment.

Greetings: OM can't help with your exact request but I did find an
old floppy with some "morse" programs for the older Dos PC's..

I wont detail anything unless you tell me you might use one of them.
Some of the filenames are: morse.zip suprmors.exe,.doc and .cfg..
Another file, morse.txt, talks about practicing receiving as well as
sending practice using the PC's speaker.. Don't see a mention of
where or how you hook up the key.. They, also, may not work with a
newer PC with fast CPU's.. The docs talk about 12mHz.. <grin>

At one time I did see some morse practice programs for Linux but I
can't find now.. Perhaps Google/linux can help?

Well, I can at least enter morse with the keyboard keys with
http://packages.debian.org/xcwcp, though hooking up a real key
with xcwcp is broken at the moment. So I guess xcwcp will have to do,
as I don't want to leave Linux, nor tamper with keyboard wiring.
