That sucks ;-(
Do you still have the content for the linuxia64.org website? I'd be
interested in integrating it into the ia64-linux.org website.

As it turns out I do. I made a backup on 8/24/03 that should be
pretty current, the web page doesn't change much. Give me a minute
and I'll send you a tar ball.

Have you asked how much they might want to get it back?

Matthew,
www.ia64-linux.org works, but if I use the URL ia64-linux.org, it
doesn't. Can you change this?

Haven't even thought of pursuing that yet. I have no idea what they
might want and I also have no idea where the money would come from to
pay them off (in a perfect world VA would resolve this since it was
their mistake that caused it in the first place but I'm not holding
my breath for that to happen).

I sent email to the admin@speededge.com address asking, and called
them, speaking with Steven David. I expect a call back on Friday from
someone who may know what they want. (not holding my breath).
They're apparently a reseller of computer services (web hosting,
registration, business planning, ...). linuxia64.org is redirecting to
java-training.com which is owned by the same company, and which
expired in February...

Why don't you reregister java-training.com and swap it for linuxia64.org?

My thought exactly, but though it's showing as expired, the registrars
all claim it's taken still. The registrar is messed up, as they think
it was last updated 7 months from now too...
| Registrar: DomainTheNet.com
|
| Domain Name: java-training.com
| Created on ............. 26-nov-2003
| Expires on ............. Feb 17 2004 3:17AM
| Record last updated on . 26-nov-2004
| Status .................LOCK
I'm sure it's not really expired.

Fixed now. It took a while for stale DNS to purge out of my cache,
but it works for me now from my home system.

Now it works here, too.
Thanks!

PS: In http://ia64-linux.org/processors.html, it says:
"FSB ran at a quad-pumped 200MHz" shouldn't this be
"the 128-bit wide FSB ran at a dual-pumped 200MHz"?

Still can't get an address for ia64-linux.org. tld1.ultradns.net says
that ns2.infradead.org, ns1.infradead.org and ns0.infradead.org are
authoritative for ia64-linux.org, but only ns0.infradead.org actually
returns an A record for ia64-linux.org, the other two return nothing.
