I have seen issues where entering the QLogic SCSI BIOS utility would hang
the system.  However, with the recent BIOS builds, I was able to enter the
set up with  no hangs and configure the SCSI drives.

I think I used build 60.

Yes.  Don't bother entering Qlogic setup on BigSurs -- the system will hang.

I was able to boot both test6 and test7 kernels on BigSurs without any
Qlogic
BIOS changes.  I had to enable >4G addressing on Lion systems when booting
test6 kernels.
