This is a news list devoted to Linux on the IA64 CPU, not a general
perpose Linux discussion group.  (It's OK, we don't bite even if
you post here by mistake :-)

I would suggest you check out the site `http://www.linuxnewbie.org/'.
They have articles there that should be able to answer your questions.
