I have the official redhat 7.2 ia64 CD set, tried installing on an HP i2000
machine and it didn't get very far (couldn't even load the kernel off the
CD using elilo). Has anyone installed redhat or mandrake on HP i2000 machines?

Hi Neil,
I have loaded RH 7.1, 7.2 and mandrake (can't recall which version of mdrk)
on HP i2000 systems. They are all B3. (My RH 7.1 used a boot floppy, but
the 7.2 came from the CD.
What kind of error are you getting?

The redhat 7.2 CD boots, gets to the point saying "loading qla1280 scsi
driver" , waits a while,
then outputs:
exec: permission denied
install exited abnormally
...
you may safely reboot your system
