[linux-lvm] Logical Volume file system

hi,

 is there a way to know the type of the file system installed on a
Logical Volume ?
 This information isn't displayed in the output of the 'lvdisplay'
command :(

The LV itself really doesn't care what you put on it, it does not even
need to be a filesystem.

There is no such as a `raw device'. A LV can be seen as a normal blockdevice
from userland, just like a normal harddisk or disk slice.

I think what you are referring to is `raw io', which is something you
can do with any block device. Currently you still need a special rawio
patch for Linux kernels, but it's a well tested and stable patch.

I've been searching through many places about Linux kernel 2.4.x support
for raw devices, and found nothing specific.

Is raw devices support 2.5.x material, or is it possible with 2.4.x ?

Wichert is right,

you need a patch for 2.2.

rawio is included in 2.4.
