Hello,
I encountered regression (breakage) for the Grandstream GUV3100 webcam
(ID 2bab:0011) in the uvcvideo driver.
Testing showed that the camera WORKS on kernel 6.16.8.arch3-1.
However, it does NOT WORK on newer kernel versions, including the
latest stable version (6.17.1.arch1-1) and the latest LTS kernel
version (6.12.51-1).
Problem: The driver finds the device but cannot start the video
stream, resulting in an error in dmesg: “No streaming interface found
for terminal 65535.”
I checked all known quirks (0x128, 0x100, 0x400) without success. The
logs attached below were collected on a non-working kernel with the
quirks=0x400 parameter applied.
I hope this information will help restore device support.

Hi Angel4005,
As you are on Arch, can you try v6.12.48 LTS from the package archive?
It was released on the same day as v6.16.8 so it's hopefully good too.
If you can find the exact v6.12 series release which introduced the
breakage things may get easier, because there are much fewer commits
to worry about between releases in those LTS series.
These are the only drivers/media changes between v6.12.48 and v6.12.51:

Thank you very much for your quick and helpful responses!
I confirm that the problem seems to be related to duplicate IDs in the
descriptor of my Grandstream GUV3100 device.
Unfortunately, I was unable to test the proposed patch, as kernel
building is beyond my current capabilities. I am not experienced in
such matters and do not want to risk the stability of my system.
The exact breaking point when the camera stopped working was found:
* Last known WORKING kernel (GOOD): 6.12.50-1-lts
* First known NON-WORKING kernel (BAD): 6.12.51-1-lts
I hope this information will help pinpoint the commit that caused the
regression.

We know which commit caused the regrassion, but it's hard to fix the
issue properly without being able to test on the device. That's why
Ricardo asked if the camera can be easily bought from somewhere.

My Grandstream GUV3100 camera is easy to buy. It is not a rare or
exclusive camera. It can be purchased from about 30 local online
stores in my country.

Can you perhaps ask for help on the forum of your distribution?
Chances are someone can help by building and providing 6.12.51
kernel-pkgs for your distribution with the suggested patch added
to the build. Then you can just install these pkg with your
regular distro package manager which should be easy and safe
to do.
