Great! The code works. Thanks for the report. Hmm, that "6)" at the
end looks weird, though -- there should be something like "xxxk init, 0k
highmem)"...
Could you please change "#undef DEBUG" into "#define DEBUG" in
arch/mips/arc/memory.c and check if your system boots this way, either?
I would also appreciate an output from '/proc/iomem' (once you boot into
a shell).
Maciej

Does this mean we have support for the graphics hardware on SGIs? Or is
it still limited to certain Indys? I have an I2 I've been tempted to try
linux on but been spoofed off by the fact that I can't use my lovely 21"
monitor. Is a search still being made for docs on the graphics hardware?

I belive this is because of the terminal program being used. It appears to
not have any kind of line wrap, so characters printed after the 80th
overwrite the last column of the display.

True unixers use cu(1) as terminal program, works great.

It's possible. I'm actually using `cu' and it works fine wrt wrapping
but it requires hw flow control (it sets "-clocal" and "crtscts"
explicitly) unfortunately, which is why it cannot be used for the
DECstation's REX console I/O (which uses DTR/DSR flow control due to
serial interface limitations on certain DEC hardware). I'm going to
modify `cu' at one time but since I don't really work with REX that much
I'm just using `cat' for this purpose for now.
It's best to use `dmesg' (with "-s 32768" if necessary) if at all
possible to fetch logs anyway.

The Indy is off again now and the I2 is compiling..
So, unless I get chance to try it on the I2 later this week, it will be
the weekend before I get to try this.....
Unless someone else can verify this and make the change..

Not a problem for me -- I'm not in a hurry that much.

You might try 'screen'. I don't know if it requires Hardware
flow control, but it works for me via
screen screen /dev/ttyS1
