Thanks a bunch to everybody who replied to my email and suggested toolchain
options. Many of you suggested crosstool and I am going to give it a shot.
However, the build matrix shows that the toolchain for mips fails.

Has anybody been able to build a toolchain for MIPS using crosstool
successfully? And if so, could you please reply to me with the configuration
used (gcc, glibc, binutils, etc).
Thanks again,
Prashant

I'm part of the LinuxfromScratch community, we are currently putting
together a book on a sudo cross-compile build method, we have it working
with the latest binutils, glibc, and gcc 3.4.4.

The only we have left to do is to use the linux-mips.org version of
linux, that's the only change planned for the mips and mips64 builds
