Hi all,

I installed dosemu on a laptop with a debian.

I followed README.debian, I downloaded freedos.

When I start dosemu, I got the text: "Sorry, there is no operating system."

I tryed several things within /etc/dosemu/dosemu.{users,conf}, I also moved sym link ../dosemu/comcom.com to ../dosemu/commands/comcom.com

Thank you in advance for your help.

Jacques

recently, i went thru fdisk hell when trying to add a drdos
partition for dosemu. the drdos version of fdisk trashed the partition table
leaving me with no dos or linux. I've since been told that this is due to the
age of my version of drdos and the newer harddrive i was running. others seem
to have had similar problems.

i'm currently looking at retrying and using freedos. will the freedos version
of fdisk have the same problems?

no, probably not -- I've seen positive reports of it on the LBA side. But
personally I would just use Linux fdisk, since that one can simply avoid
all those BIOS issues.

Also, you don't *need* to add a dos partition for DOSEMU; all your DOS
files can just live on an ext2/ext3/reiser/whatever partition, unless you
want the same files available when you dual boot.
