SSH-Dosemu graphic problem

Hi all!

The problem:
I want to login with ssh from my i486 laptop to my 266mhz router, where
dosemu is installed.
I want to start there a game like maniac manson, and the graphic should be
shown on my i486.
But when starting maniac manson or any other graphic game, i only got a
higher load, but nothing happens. I must kill the session, because i can't do
anything now. The other dos-programs like norton commander and so on are working
fine.

Any help?

Sure.

Are you running the console or X version of dosemu?  For graphics, local
SVGA card or X is required.  In your case you would have to do X11 forwarding
for your ssh session and display it on the 486's X server.  I don't think
anyone has done aalib for dosemu yet ;)  But maybe someday.

DOS programs that use conio or VGA text output are intercepted and displayed
on stdout like normal terminal programs.  Unfortunately, it's not so easy
for graphical programs.

Ok, i have not x on my 486 because of not enought memory. But i have
framebuffer, can't the graphic
displayed via this?

I don't think that's possible unless there is some network framebuffer emulation
app out there.  How much memory does the 486 have?  8-16 megs should be enough
to start Xfree86 3.x and run a single application, though I can't guarantee
it will be fun. :)

I have the power of 6 mb ram. :-)
Btw.: The 486 runs with 33 mhz.
I use this laptop to browse with links/lynx the web and to communicate with
irssi/centericq with a wlan-card from my bed. ;-)

Use vncserver on server and vncviewer on 486.
6 MB RAM should be enough.
You could try also tightvnc and ultravnc.
