i tried running a program with dosemu, and it requested at least 2700K ems...
i changed the $_ems setting in dosemu.conf to 4096K and it still didn't
work...
so i tried looking through the mail archive for this list and found that i
should have ems.sys loaded. i looked it up and found that it does get loaded
but nothing changes... i still have 2048K ems
i didn't find anything else...
is it suposed to work just by changing the setting in dosemu.conf? or am i
missing something obvious?

For me it work.
Maybe you have forgotten to uncomment the line? (=remove the # character)
