I'mmlooking to try out a TCP-IP stack for DOS, does anyone have any
recommendations? I guess i'd mainly be interested in telnet, ftp
functionality. I wonder why they haven't tried to build that into free
dos?
thanks..

I presume you're looking for packet drivers? Try the NCSA Telnet
package:

I tried the Microsoft offering (it's circa 1991 I think) and I had
some success. It was OK for telnet (yes, the NCSA version seemed ok
to me as another poster mentioned) but it couldn't seem to hack it
with large files and I eventually gave up with it for that reason.
I used the crynwyr (or however you spell it:) packet driver.

Ged.

At work we have some DOS machines running TCP/IP. Although I have no direct
responsibility for this, I believe I have heard that they use WAT-TCP, the
"WAT" being for University of Waterloo. If you want, I'll check into this on
Monday, see what the licensing, cost (if any), etc. are, and see if I can
find out where to get it.

I actually got sound to work with it, and I dodn't think it was possible:)
Most of the programs hung eventually but I thought it was worth
mentioning.
