pre-release 1.1.3.6 ...., dosemu-devel.

is now available at http://dosemu.org/testing

This contains the reworked Sound Blaster Pro emulation code from Stas, the
compilation fixes for yacc/bison, old keyboard and mkbindist, and a few
documentation updates.

With the sound update being so large, all the rest will need to wait until
the next pre-release.

The dosemu-devel mailing list (which was by invitation only so far) is now
open for everyone (you must subscribe before you post though).

if you're interested in discussing DOSEMU development beyond just being a

I can see also this misterious dosemu-bugs
list which even I haven't seen, also made
itself public.
It was always a bit of fun for me to know that
dosemu have some secret live, carefully hidden
even from its regular developers. At least it
seems to me that also Eric, Alberto and Reinhard
haven't ever seen that.
I appreciate you've finally killed that *paranoical
idiocy* (dosemu-devel is a different case here).
Seeing the spam rate of dosemu-bugs, I think you
can go even further and to terminate the list
entirely, but this doesn't matter too much of course.

Turning sound off ($_sound = (off)) gives the following message:

It's the old problem with the tr keyboard. Just remove the 2 lines from
lexer.l. You could remove the lines in lexer.l.in, but if you want the
kbd_unicode plugin, you have lost the tr keyboard.

The problem was that I removed it from lexer.l and not lexer.l.in, and
then forgot about it :(. The tr at 420-421 in lexer.l is correct (from
src/plugin/kbd_unicode/config/plugin_lexer)

No it's not public. You only see it if you are logged in.

dosemu-bugs is a continuation from the list at dosemu.org. It's not
advertized anymore because we use sourceforge bug tracker instead now.
After the day the address was removed from the *front page* of
www.dosemu.org the spam went down significantly )

The one and only reason that it still exists is that we (still?) have the
submit-bug-report script in dosemu that sends to this address.

So if you've never seen it, then you haven't looked at this part of
DOSEMU :-)

does exist, yet I haven't seen it. There was a

That always puzzled me. I knew that it gets
carefully hidden from the most of the regular
developers (not the existant of the list, but
its *content*). That always made me think that
something goes totally wrong here. Probably
that was due to the high spam ratio, but this
is unlikely. Other than that, I see no sane
reasons, but there probably were an insane
ones:)

Well, at least that was a case for
dosemu.org times. For the SF times
now I am not sure have I tried to
enter the "Mailing Lists" when I was
logged in (but I think I did). So, if
it was also visible for the logged
people of dosemu, then the part of
that idiocy was already killed together
with dosemu.org. But I don't think
I can verify that now:)

Non-trivial (and well-written) bug reports were sometimes forwarded to
dosemu-devel, so it wasn't exactly completely hidden. It was just a way of
sending email to two persons (Hans and Alistair), and later three (Hans,
Alistair and myself), just like some people like sending me bug reports
privately. Now I don't like private bug reports so that's why I changed
the system (after a bit of asking around of course).

So now the one and only reason for dosemu-bugs is the submit-bug-report
script, which will stay around for as long as people are using DOSEMU's
containing this script. So, if you know a way to connect submit-bug-report
to the bug tracker at sourceforge, then let me know :)

It's not too important really (at this stage) -- the last legitimate post
to dosemu-bugs was dated June 24 and none of them used submit-bug-report.

some DPMI enhancements and fixes and misc other things were added.
