In that case you don't need a Freedos.
Freedos is needed only to start dosemu
"out of the box", ie. when you don't
have any dos already installed and still
want dosemu to operate.
Well, one may want to still choice a
Freedos because it's free:)

Hello,

I am installing dosemu-1.0.2 on Redhat 8.0. When I typed "make" according
to the instructions in the QuickStart file I got a million messages saying
that funcjions were depreciated, that they were absolute, that they should
not be used etc.,and also messages about multi-line literals. the compile
took so long that I was on the point of canceling it.

The QuickStart file also contains instructions for downloading and
installing dosemu binaries, which apparently means more than freedos. On
my old installation I found that I had little use for freedos. Do I need
any of these binaries? I will be using the versio`n of Dos that came with
Windows 98.

Thanks,
John
