Upgrade your dosemu. Old dosemus has a
bug which prevents the AC flag from
being set, and this is how the programs
are testing whether the CPU is 486, so
they get confused.

Hi everyone
I'm new to dosemu, I just installed it for the single purpose
to play a game named Fragile Allegiance.
I've installed the 1.0.2 bindist with freedos bindist.
The problem is when I start the installer of the game I get
the following nice error:
Fragile needs to take use of the 32 bit capabilities of a 486DX
or above processor to run. The processor in your PC is only
capable of 16 but operations.
Anyone has any idea how to fix it? I've tried setting $_cpu to
386,486,586 with no result.
thx for help

It sounds an awful lot like the game wants to use VCPI or unreal-mode
memory, neither of which will work under dosemu. Does it use DOS4GW or
any other DPMI dos extender? If so, then the problem is somewhere else.
