Can you tell me about some good benchmarks to work with?, it doesn't
matters if it is console based or X based. Need someone to test whole
machine status, mem speedy, disk speedy, cpu, etc ...

Bonnie is a program which is used by most kernel developers to test
filesystems i/o and disk reads and writes, it does not AFAIK do much else,
having said that its just about all one needs.
