Hi,

I downloaded and installed realplayer version 8.0.3.412 into slackware 9.1 and
RedHat 9.

In RedHat opening netscape and addressing music or speech to stream in
realplayer opens automatically and starts playing.

In slackware and again with netscape instead of addressing a speech I am
asked to safe a *.ram file like for instance:

 cat agenda.ram
pnm://rmv8.bbc.net.uk/worldservice/interview.ra?title="The Interview"

Settings of Netscape are the same in both boxes.

How will I make realplayer play under slackware?

Thanks & regards

I cant answer your question directly, i can however point you to a newsgroup
and an artical about how the bbc seems to uck up realplayer.

Group is uk.comp.os.linux
Thread = "Something odd happened to realplay with BBC"

Or you could use google.com .

If the Linux community is a bunch of theives because they
try to imitate windows programs, then the Windows community
is built on organized crime.

Check to make sure that you've got mozplugger installed. If you do,
make sure that you have definitions in the mozpluggerrc file to
describe realplayer...\

While you're at it, you may want to look at the helixplayer
( http://www.helixplayer.org/ )
(which is the new version of realplayer).
