Is there a good book out there to get me started with Linux? Something
like Linux for Dummies? I'm an old DOS and Windows guy and I need to
learn the basics. Even all the terminology is new. I'be been reading
the manual that came with SuSE 9.0 and the Net and the Newsgroups, but I
feel like I'm trying to piece it all together in the dark.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Greetings:
One suggestion would be to access www.amazon.com; select "books" and
enter linux in the search panel.. You'll be surprized at the amount
of listings you get.. Then the problem is; which one or more??
Amazon lists many used books for give away prices, where they are an
agent for other booksellers and individuals.. Linux In A Nutshell
will give an almost complete listing of the commands, etc, but
Running Linux by Matt Welsh, et al, might be a better selection for
what you want.. And since Linux was derived from Unix - many other
selections are available being forewarned that Linux is much better
than any of the Unix machines I've messed with.. If you're not
interested in the command line, the above books wont help a lot..
Linux should be called GNU/Linux because without the Free Software
Foundation's work we might be up a creek. <grin>
