Dear All,

Where is the archive for this mailing list? And is it searchable? I
searched at the http://www.linux.org website but its not mentioned
over there. Kindly point me in the right direction.

Cheers,
anna

This question comes up every few months. As far as I know, the list isn't
currently being archived anywhere.

Last time someone asked, Jim Reimer responded that he was asking this site
-- http://marc.theaimsgroup.com -- which archives many Linux and Open Source
mailing lists, to add linux-newbie. But I just checked it and we are not on
its list of lists, so I guess that didn't happen. Pfui!

An OLD archive of the list -- looks like it only covers the time before the
list moved to kernel.org (it goes only to August 2000) -- is at
http://www.geocrawler.com/lists/3/Linux/47/0/ . This is part of the set of
Open Source sites run by VA Something-Or-Other, and I can't seem to find a
way to suggest that they add the current location of the list to their
archiving system.

Should start showing up again at www.mail-archive.com within
the next few hours.

Don't know what happened to theaimsgroup - I'll try again.
