Hi,

I am using vanilla Linux 6.8.10, and I've just noticed this BUG in my
dmesg log. I have no idea what triggered it, and especially since I
have not even mounted any NFS filesystems?!

Cheers,
Chris

FWIW the problem appears to be with linux-6.8/fs/nfsd/stats.c#L38:

        struct nfsd_net *nn = net_generic(net, nfsd_net_id);

although the value of the "net" variable looks reasonable.

Cheers,
Chris

Can you run faddr2line against that kmod and tell us where it failed?
Something like this, with a non-stripped kmod:

    $ scripts/faddr2line --list fs/nfsd/nfsd.ko nfsd_show+0x39/0x18e

Thanks,

Yeah, that definitely looks like something is wrong with the net or
net->gen. I don't suppose you have a vmcore? With that you might be
able to tell what the struct net looked like just before the crash.

Are you working in a containerized setup or is this a bare metal
machine?
