_DSD -> XDSD is a strategy I've seen employed when someone wants to pick
up reference code but has a difference in their design (for example they
don't have a retimer connected to the second USB4 router and disabled
the IP.
I don't know for sure; but my guess this is a strategy to avoid
technical debt and mistakes when merging future reference code versions.
