Subject: An Unexpected IO-APIC was found
Date: Thu, 31 Oct 2002 08:31:18 +1100 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <20021031083118.41893a0b.jtvortex@attbi.com> (raw)
Greetings,
Recently, I have been working with an Epox 8K5A2+ (VIA KT333) motherboard which has been nothing but trouble, despite working with Epox to resolve the problem. For the most part, the board works fine, but the onboard VIA USB 2.0 controller fails, possibly due to the IRQ assignments. We have also had problems with the BIOS not being able to assign IRQs to all devices and the floppy drive has problems writing to disks.
We are using the latest Award BIOS released by Epox and noticed that there was a message in the logs indicating that that there's "An unexpected IO-APIC was found". Since this kernel is less than three months old, I herewith attach the Kernel logs.
If there's any other information you need or anything I can do, please let me know.
Thanks,
Jonathan
