Hello,

My /var/messages reported the following:

Jan  1 11:26:02 localhost kernel: An unexpected IO-APIC was found. If this 
kernel release is less than
Jan  1 11:26:02 localhost kernel: three months old please report this to 
linux-smp@vger.kernel.org
Jan  1 11:26:02 localhost kernel: .................................... done.
Jan  1 11:26:02 localhost kernel: Using local APIC timer interrupts.
Jan  1 11:26:02 localhost kernel: calibrating APIC timer .

as reported by uname -a

Linux localhost.localdomain 2.4.20-27.7smp #1 SMP Thu Dec 11 14:50:55 EST 
2003 i686 unknown

Everything is pretty much out-of-the-box redhat with all applied errata's.
