Hi, is anyone working on improved kernel support for the cs4237b sound
chip? If not, then is there anyone interested in working on improved
kernel support for the cs4237b?

Currently support is available in the form of the cs4232 module, but this
support seems to be, shall we say, lacking a bit.

(What looks like full documentation for the cs4237b is available in pdf
format if anyone is interested)

Just out of interest, what new features has cs4237b over 4232?

To tell you the truth, I'm not entirely sure. I know that it's an
extension of the cs4235, and that one of the enhancements is the 'srs' dsp
[srs=sound retrieval system], there is an interface for an external
wavetable device, and, of course, there is a sound blaster interface
(which is probably present in the cs4232 as well, but I've only got a
list of differences between the cs4236 and the cs4237b).

I have full documentation available in pdf format if you're interested.

(Please note that I'm not a programmer, otherwise I'd be trying to write
my own module).
