You need the isapnp package. This package has tools to inspect isa cards 
and also to activate the recomended pnp settings. I belive the home page
is at http://www.roestock.demon.co.uk/isapnptools

You should just be able to use the es1370 driver, either the one
in the standard 2.2 kernel or in the ALSA project.
