Currently only mp3 input is supported. Of course you can
encode the edited files back to mp3 manually, but this is a bit
laboursome... Does anyone on the list happen to know, whether
any of the freeware mp3 encoders support reading from standard
input?

Well it's still unreleased. I'm currently doing a major
rewrite, so it may take some time. But as there seems
to be some interest, I'll try put together a web site for it.

Oops. Brain malfunction. Pattern recognition failure. Caffeine levels
dangerously low. mpg123 is a _de_coder, not an _en_coder. Excuse me while
I headbutt the wall.

Well, I can't release anything just yet. Some parts of the program
still use non-GPL routines and I have to replace them with GPL-versions
before releasing. Anyway, there's now a web page dedicated for
ecasound. There's info about the current development status, general
info about what it can do now and what features are under work, etc...
For everyone interested in fx-processing, harddisk/multitrack recording,
etc, check...
