Hi,

I hope this helps.
System is a dual PIII 450 (SMP).
Compiler: egcs-2.91.66
Glibc: 2.1.1 (redhat 6.1).
Kernel: 2.3.46

Running kmix or gmix causes a sig11 in
ioctl.

ioctl(4, 0x80044d76, 0xbffff980) = 0
ioctl(4, 0x805c4d65, 0x808cbc4) = 0
ioctl(4, SOUND_MIXER_READ_DEVMASK, 0x808cc24) = 0
ioctl(4, SOUND_MIXER_READ_RECMASK, 0x808cc28) = 0
ioctl(4, SOUND_MIXER_READ_RECSRC, 0x808cc20) = 0
ioctl(4, SOUND_MIXER_READ_STEREODEVS, 0x808cc2c) = 0
ioctl(4, SOUND_MIXER_READ_CAPS, 0x808cc30) = 0
ioctl(4, SOUND_MIXER_READ_VOLUME, 0xbffff97c) = 0
ioctl(4, SOUND_MIXER_READ_SYNTH <unfinished ...>
+++ killed by SIGSEGV +++

I tried to collect something using ksyoops. This is the first time
though so I make have messed it up. If this is wrong I'll try
again :)

It's an ac97_codec bug that should be
fixed in 2.3.47-3

Tom
