Greetings: Is there a software "VU" meter for a Sound Blaster sound
card?
In other words: If I connect a mike or any other input device to the
mic jack or line in jack - how do I know what level to send?
I have the *limits* and can control the level with AUMIX, but WHAT is
the proper level?
Worked my entire life in Sound Recording - analog of course - but
this digital stuff seems *different*.. <grin>
TIA,

What would be most helpful is to know what XWindows package you're using
(Gnome, KDE, etc) and what distro you're using.

Greetings: Sorry for lack of details but I was hoping, tongue in
cheek, that there may be a curses version not requiring a GUI..
(aumix and workbone run CLI of course.)
Anyway am using Slackware 7.1 and moving toward Slackware 8.0, with
fvwm2 window manager in both cases if absolutely needed.. I was
brought up with CLI and my eyes prefer it. <grin>
Thanks - appreciate..
